Celebration of Wild Horses through Art and Music a Smashing SuccessGreat turnout for opening night Celebration
Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs sprang to life the evening of August 2nd with a fundraising event for The Cloud Foundation (TCF). Over 200 people attended to enjoy the beautiful art of 27 locally and nationally known equine artists. The exhibit included artists' renditions of "The Spirit of Wild Horses," in various media, including photography, sculpture, pen and ink drawings, as well as oil and acrylic paintings.
A presentation by Ginger Kathrens, TCF Executive Director, took center stage. She shared her 20-year adventure with wild horses and showed clips from her first three documentaries about Cloud, a palomino stallion she has documented from the day of his birth in the Pryor Mountains of Montana. She discussed the threats facing wild horses due to current government management practices and encouraged the audience to get involved in preserving what wild horses value most - their freedom and their families.
